Topic: Dental and Down Syndrome with Jay Yip
Date: April 21, 2016
Time:6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Location: 1409 Sperling Ave, Burnaby
Cost: Free

We will be covering the following topics: managing dental problems, finding a good dentist,ideas on more cost efficient ways to get dental work done, special dental problems associated with Down Syndrome, dental decay, teaching individuals with Downs to take care of their teeth, Cardiac Disorders, Immune systems, Hypertonia, Orofacial features, month breathing, Malocclusion, tooth anomalies. What parents and caregivers should be doing and what not to be doing with their children’s teeth, the best products to use, and Questions & Answer time.

LMDSS Adult Connection Group

Topic: Shopping & Dinner
Date: Saturday, April 16th, 2016
Time:5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location:Shopping at Guildford Mall followed by dinner at Milestones
Cost:Self Advocates will receive $20 from the Adult Group Budget – a portion to be spent on something small at the mall and the remainder to go towards the cost of their meal.
(Stephanie can provide transporation to self-advocates who live in Coquitlam(please email Stephanie to coordinate).

Cost: The cost of mini golf will be covered by the Adult Connection Group budget, self -advocates will need to bring money for ice cream and purchases they wish to make at Chapters.

Dates:
April 25th to May 13th, 2016  & June 6th to June 24th, 2016

The Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society is pleased to be offering our
Reading & Math program.
This year we have four teachers that will be joining us each one will be bringing a unique teaching skill to the classroom and our one to one programs.
These skills and resources will be used to help improve your child/adult reading and math abilities and will help to bring them to the next level.
We will be setting up assessment meetings and assigning time slots to each participate, so if you would like to register for this program, please contact the LMDSS office at info@lmdss.com.

Dance Fit Classes (NEW)
The Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society is looking at starting another new program called dance fit. If your child, teen, or adult is interested in making friends,having fun, and getting into shape please email the LMDSS office to let us know you are interested in joining us.
