Reading & Math Program:

20.00 per class
The Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society is pleased to be offering our Reading & Math one on one program.
These skills and resources will be used to help improve your child/adult reading and math abilities and will help to bring them to the next level.
We will be setting up assessment meetings and assigning time slots to each participate, so if you would like to register for this program, please contact the LMDSS office at info@lmdss.com.

LMDSS Adult Connection Group

Topic: OWL Orphaned Wildlife
Date: September 17, 2016
Time: 2:00 pm

Adults Connect Group – Come out for a guided tour of the permanent residents that live at the OWL – Orphaned Wildlife centre!

There are eagles, falcons, hawks, owls and vultures, to mention a few ,and as part of the tour you will also learn about their stories, feeding habits , and other educational items. Make sure to bring your cameras. The path is paved but not covered so sensible shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather is a good idea.

After the tour we will go to McDonalds for free ice cream and coffee.

LMDSS Youth Group

Topic: Vancouver Aquarium
Date: October 1, 2016
Location: 845 Avison Way, Vancouver, BC
Cost:10.00 to 14.00 (one caregiver per participant gets in free)

Come out and join the LMDSS Youth Group for a day at the Vancouver Aquarium where you can enjoy a fun filled day with lots of amazing things to see and do.  Meet with Melissa at 11:00 and stay as long as you like.
Meet up with old and new friends, get caught up on the latest stories, and share a meal together.

Sexuality Classes  for 12+

Location: 1720 Grant St., Vancouver, BC
Cost: Members $ 60.00 for the 6 classes
Non-Members $100.00

Instructed by Jessica Wollen, a Teacher, Certified Sexual Health Educator, Parent, and the CEO of Shift Education.


Classes are designed for children, and adults with special abilities, their parents, and caregivers, or support staff. Classes will cover body changes, hygiene, puberty, safer sex, abuse prevention, exploitation prevention, and healthy relationships.

Cost: 10.00 per person

This fun event will allow you to shop for those Christmas presents after the mall is closed to their regular shoppers in a more relaxed atmosphere.

The Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society is looking at starting another new program called dance fit.
